Cooking at the Antbear Guest House
Andrew and Conny have always loved good food.
Their passion and dedication to good food is
what brought them here an the first place.
To live off the land, grow their own vegitables
and as far as possible self sufficient. Fresh
ingredients are essential, and being able to
pick from the organic gardens is a huge advantage.
We try to use as much as we can from our own
garden and then where possible source great
products from the local area.

Our meals are best described as farm-style
country cooking. There are no fixed rules and
we like to change things often and we dont
keep repeating any of our meals. Sometimes
its indian food or maybe chicken cordon blue.
Or morrocan or mexican or something from South
Africa. We make our own pasta from scratch.
Soups and stock are things we are particularly
good at. And we like to make our own bread,
we even grind our own wheat and you will find
things like baegels on the menue from time
to time.

Dinner is generally a social affair and mostly
our guests like to sit together. We have gotten
so used to this that we just set the table
together these days. However every now an then
we have a honeymoon couple who want to spend
a romantic evening alone during dinner and
yes we spare no effort to making yours a memorable
dining experience too. Join us for a pre-dinner
drink in the cosy lounge where we always have
a few canopies on offer and if its chilly there
is a welcoming fire too.
