Journey through the 4000 hectare Umsuluzi reserve exploring the extensive swath of Kwazulu-Natal's Valley Bushveld. Riverside's Horse riding offer the guest the opportunity to venture into the unknown wilderness and experience nature from a different perspective.

Umsuluzi Riverside Lodge also offers you the opportunity to journey through the rugged bushveld on an open Land Drover, with our qualified guides, in search of the extensive plains game and birdlife. Armed with ones binoculars and field guide, guests can expect sightings of many of our 30 species of game and the 250 plus bird species the reserve has to offer.

There is excellent bass fishing in the clear waters of the reserves dams, which doubles as outstanding birding venues populated by the parks abundant bird life. The non-perennial waters of the Bloukrans River are an ideal venue for beginner fishermen to test their skills against the resident Yellowfish.

Umsuluzi Riverside Lodge is loaded with activities both on the reserve and those offered on nearby farms. Whether it be the exhilaration of white water rafting the waters of the great Tugela River, experiencing the thrill and achievement of mastering some of the most rugged 4x4 trails, rhino tracking both White and the most dangerous Black rhino on the neighboring Weenen Game Reserve, or merely absorbing the peace and tranquility the Umsuluzi has to offer by walking or mountain biking the spider web of tracks and trails in the veld, we guarantee an experience of one and all. .
