New Year

New Year was spent in a indian resturant and at midnight we went out onto the street to watch the millions of marks fireworks that get shot to lightup the skys. It was a bit peculiar to think that in Yougoslavia almost exactly the same thing was going on. The flooding of the Rhine was pretty spectacular even if more than a few people got their feet wet when they tried to get out of bed. Flooding rivers are a spectacular sight, an almost hypnoctic effect just watching that awsome power and speed. Its strange how the people here are not able to understand this facination. They have even proposed fines for those that get in the way a stand around looking at the river. They seem to think that the folks are obsessed be the destruction and cannot imagine that it may just be that this is the first flooded river that most people have ever seen and just maybe they are a little courious.
