nursery school
Sometimes I think that all I really need to know about how to live and what to do and how to be I learned at nersry school. Wisdom does not come from three A's in matric but rather out of the sandpit. There I learned the share everything, play fair, not to hit people, to put things back where you found them, to clean up your own mess, to say sorry when you hurt somebody, not to take things that do not belong to you, to wash your hands before you eat, to flush, to take a nap in the afternoon, buscuits and warm milk with honey is good for you and when you go out into the world, watch out for the traffic, hold hands and stick together. Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the styrofoam cup; the roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that. Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even that little seed in the styrofoam cup - They all die. So do we. And then remember the Paul-and-Sally books and the first word you learned. The biggest word of all. LOOK.
Everything you need to know is in there somewhere. Take any one of these items and extrapolate it (I found the word in my thesourous) into sophisticated adult terms and apply it to your family life or your work or your government or your world and it holds true and is some quite clear. Think what a better world it would be if we all had cookies and milk about three every afternoon and the lay down with our blankies for a nap. If only our governments had a policy to always put things back where they found them and to clean up their own mess. And it is still true when you go out into the world it is best to hold hands and stick together.
